Looks like I posted too soon about the bruises, as I woke this morning to have two partial black eyes, with red bruises on the inside of each eye, as if I have been weeping blood. It looks awful, like one of those pictures of battered pensioners the Daily Mail or Evening Standard post sometimes to frighten their readers. Far too horrible to post ( Read more... )

Last week, I was peeling potatoes over the sink, and dropped a bit of peel. With the small, pointy knife I was using in my left hand I leaned over and picked it up with my right hand, and somehow managed to stab myself quite deeply in the right elbow with the point of the knife.
